About The Harrogate Quilting Studio
The Harrogate Quilting Studio was born out of necessity, when Althea Smith realised that there was no professional longarm quilting service nearby in the North Yorkshire Dales.
A keen quilter, Althea began making quilts for friends and family some years ago, and like every other quilter, becoming obsessed with, and devoted to, fabrics and quilting patterns! Her own interests lie in foundation paper piecing and civil war era quilts – the history and traditions of quilt making from this period fascinate me and she is drawn to the colours and patterns which predominate.
Gammill Long Arms - The Statler
Imported direct from the manufacturer in the U.S, the Statler is the "Bentley" of top quality long arm quilting machines, utilising cutting-edge computer software and strong, robust engineering to beautifully stitch any design.
The quilting studio is based at New York Mill, Summerbridge in beautiful Nidderdale, between Harrogate and Pateley Bridge.
